TICA Updates for September

Congratulations to Titran's Quinnton for achieving his TICA Quadruple Grand Championship! Tara, David, and Nicole extend their gratitude to every judge who included him in their finals, helping him reach this prestigious title. The competition in the NW is intense in the championship cat class, and we are honored whenever a judge selects our cats for their finals. It is a humbling experience, and we are genuinely thankful each time.

Our thanks go to Renee at Titran's Cattery for entrusting us with this boy and to Christine at Prairie Sky Norwegians for assisting us in finding him.

How is a Chamption Title Earned?

In TICA, there are 5 steps to achieving the highest Championship Cat title.

  • The Quadruple Grand Champion title is a major achievement in TICA cat shows, signifying a consistently high-quality cat that excels against others in its category.

  • Progression:

It is part of a sequence of titles, following Grand Champion, Double Grand Champion, and Triple Grand Champion.

  • High Standards:

Attaining this title requires a cat to meet exceptional breed standards, showcasing superior body, head, coat, and temperament.

How to earn it:

  1. Begin with Championship: A cat must initially achieve Champion status.

  2. Advance Through Grand Titles: The cat then earns Grand Champion, Double Grand Champion, and Triple Grand Champion titles by gathering points and reaching finals in specific top-tier categories within the shows.

  3. Achieve the Final Title: To become a Quadruple Grand Champion, a cat must accumulate additional points and secure one more final in the top 5 of a Specialty ring or top 10 of an Allbreed ring after attaining Triple Grand Champion status.

What's Next?

Apart from the treats and extra affection?

The highest level in the Champion titles is known as Supreme Grand Champion. Quinnton needs to secure a Best All Breed or Best Long Hair Specialty Cat award and complete his 6000 points. We are lucky that he is well on his way to achieving the points, and we will wait for the next judge to recognize him as the Best of the Best and grant him the honor.

Thank you again to everyone who has loved our boy. He now has a few litters of kittens, and we are very pleased with the size, maturity, and type he is producing. We hope he has a long and healthy future with us at the cattery.
